Camping with Friends

Our family went camping last weekend at Merrisach Park. Shelby invited two other kids. They are twin sisters. We had three five-year olds and Lane!! It was loads of fun. We never heard from the kids unless they were hungry or tired. These are the best days of our lives right now! We are enjoying every minute that we have with the kids. As I look at Shelby and Lane now, I can't believe that they were both so small at birth. They have grown up so much lately. Shelby is becoming very active with school. She is making 100% on her tests. Her teacher told me that she is a perfectionist. I told her that she had been since birth. She will be singing in a patriotic program on the 19th of October. She will also be attending cheer clinic from Oct. 15-17 and then they will perform at half-time on the 19th. So, there will be more pictures to come. They are definitely a blessing from GOD!! Lane is a mess, but in a SWEET way! BOYS WILL BE BOYS!! Shelby still doesn't want to get THAT dirty!

Special Days with DAD!

Shelby and Lane enjoyed a day of taking turns riding the tractor with Keith. It was Keith's last day to work on the farm during his off season at Sanders. Lane would live on the tractor if I would let him. Keith enjoyed the day with just them one at a time. He said that Shelby talked his ears off. (I don't know where she get that from!!!) Lane had to wear his yellow boots. He would sleep in them too. That boy is something else!!!!!!!

Arkansas County Fair Days

Shelby has been keeping me VERY busy lately. The Kindergarten class went to the fair on Thursday morning. Also Thursday afternoon, since I am the Girl Scout troop leader, Keith and I put together a float for our girls to ride on during the Fair Parade. It rained the entire time, however the girls had a load of fun. They are already excited about the Christmas Parade.

First week of school!!

Shelby had a few shockers this week. RULES, RULES, RULES!! The first day of school went really good. The second day was another story. When I picked Shelby up from school her eyes were huge. She said "Momma, two boys in my class were fighting today. They were choking each other and they got their car moved. Do you know what that means? They can't get a toy out of the treasure box on Friday". On Friday, their class went to P.E., one little boy had to go see the principal. She has learned quickly that there is a reward at the end of each week if she doesn't get in trouble. Great incentive!!

For those of you that don't know what the car being moved means I will explain it for future reference. All the kids start on Monday with there car on the green light. If they get in trouble once, it moves to the yellow light, then the red light. Once on the yellow light, they will miss part of their recess!! If it is on the red light, they miss all of their recess and they have to go to the principal's office. Shelby is scared to death of the principal. GOOD THING!!!!

Other than the above, she is doing really good. She has already made new friends. She told me that her and about four other little girls play together because they don't get in trouble.

Saturday, she attended a girl scouts play day. Lots of fun!! Arkansas County is trying to get a girl scout group started. The turn out was awesome!! Me and two other women will be the troop leaders for the Daisy group. So, mom is fixing to start getting very busy between girl scouts and 4-H.

Lane is doing a lot better. He has been staying at day care all week!! MOM GETS TO REST!!!! Also, he has made some new friends too!! More boys are coming to day care now. He is SOOOO excited.

First Day of School

Shelby finally started Kindergarten on Monday, August 20th! She was so excited. I realized that she was growing up and getting MORE independent this morning on the way to school. She asked me if I was going to walk her into her classroom. When I told her yes, she said well you don't have to because I know how to get to my class. Lane had a difficult time with sissy going to school too. For the past three years they have always been together. He will now be at day care by himself. So, he needed Mom's attention all day.
